Here are my picks for the Sentry Tournament of Champions
Tony Finau +2200
I usually don’t bet Finau to win outright because he’s proven to be a reliable fade. With that said, it’s his recent equipment change, not Rahm’s, that has me interested this week. It looks like he found something at Mayakoba with this new putter where he finished T8, and could be the final piece he needs to break through for a W in 2021.
Collin Morikawa +2500
It’s been a revolving door of odds for newcomers Morikawa, Hovland, and Wolff. With Hovland coming into this tournament on the heels of a Mayakoba victory, he’s jumped ahead of Morikawa which seems a bit of a overreaction and nice buy-low spot on Collin. By the way, Morikawa finished T7 at the TOC last year and has shown steady improvement in his game since. Morikawa (+105) > Hovland is also my favorite Matchup play this week, with this being Hovland’s TOC debut.
Scottie Scheffler +3500
If we don’t get gale force wins this week, we’re going to be looking at a winning score somewhere between -20 to -25. Give me the guy that shot 59 a couple months ago at the Northern Trust for this birdie fest. He also has a great track record for the key stats this week (SG: ARG, Proximity) at comp courses and conditions. Nothing not to like about Scottie this week, and you can’t beat a +3500 price tag on him in a field of 42.
